Description
Abstract : This Final Report for the Master's degree in Music Education in the Instrument and Group Music specialization seeks to demonstrate the global Practice of Supervised Education over the 2020/2021 school year. It is divided into two main parts. The first part explains the professional internship conducted at a music school that cooperates with the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco. The following are presented: the surrounding environment of the Escola de Música e Artes de Ourém- Ourearte, the characterization of the school itself, the members of the Group Music class, and the 2nd level Percussion student that was accompanied during the internship. Finally, examples are presented of summaries of classes that were seen and plans of classes that were lectured. The second part concerns the exposition of the theme of the Investigation, "Exploring Sonorities- A practice in the Percussion class". This investigation begins with the introduction of the concept of "found objects" and their utilization at the beginning of the Specialized Artistic Music Teaching course (3rd level) in Percussion with the intent of an earlier introduction to the creative and exploratory process of these instruments in the path of a percussionist in a performative way, following the direction of contemporary music in which non-conventional instruments can take on a more central and soloist role, serving as a vehicle to promote musical experimentation.
