Description
In this era of communication, at a global level, educational environments need new resources that motivate and stimulate the educational process. The exponential growth of knowledge combined with the use of digital resources, in teaching and learning environments, has contributed to changing the traditional education model and enhancing curriculum development through more contemporary strategies, thus allowing a greater diversity of learning by children. In order to favor the inclusion of ICT in Pre-School Education, an investigation was carried out to find out which resource (digital or analogue) promotes better learning (eg shape, space and colour) in the Visual Arts sub-domain. The investigation, of a qualitative nature, being action research, was developed in the academic year 2020/2021, with a heterogeneous group composed of 25 children, in a Kindergarten in the municipality of Castelo Branco, of which 5 (with 5 and 6 years old) constituted the sample of this project. In data collection, participant observation and field notes were privileged in pedagogical interventions; questionnaire surveys to Parents interviews with the Cooperating Advisor as well as with two Kindergarten Educators from the group. In the three pedagogical interventions implemented, drawing activities were developed, either in analogue support (pencil drawing on paper) or in digital support (Paint drawing software), in order to understand which of these resources promotes better learning, in the Visual Arts subdomain. The results obtained, in general, indicate that, in Pre-School Education: in terms of organization of the graphic space, by children, the use of the Paint drawing software promotes better results; in terms of shape and colour the results are better in analogue support. The results also point to the importance of the use of ICT by children, in a regular and systematic way, in their daily routines, both at home and in the school environment, to promote better learning.
