Description
preparação do Concerto.
Abstract : This work arose from the observation, by the author, that, in the preparation of the Concerto for piano and orchestra op. 20 by Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin (1872-1915), the pianist often faces challenging technical problems. It was intended, therefore, to make the Concert more accessible for pianists. The objectives of this investigation were: to list and to analyse technical difficulties within this Concerto; and to propose strategies to deal with such difficulties. The objectives are approached from the individual perspective of the author, a professional pianist who often plays Scriabin. The strategies hereby suggested may, arguably, be adopted by other instrumentalists who, in the future, face difficulties in the preparation of this work. They may even be extrapolated to the context of other musical works, thus promoting, among pianists, an individual analytical study with emphasis on creating strategies for solving technical difficulties within the scope of the scriabinian language. As a complement to the identification of technical problems and to the suggestion of strategies for their resolution, which is at the heart of this work, we suggest the use of some Studies for piano by Scriabin as a complementary repertoire during the preparation of the Concerto. The selected studies focus on difficulties identified in the Concert; or include passages similar to those we identified in the Concert as being technically challenging.
