Description
Abstract : This dissertation is divided in two main parts: the first is the report of the discipline Supervised Teaching Practice, during the school year of 2020-2021, where are described the teaching institution, namely the Conservatório Regional de Castelo Branco, the description of the Ensemble class and individual instrument class. Three classes from each discipline were selected, and described in detail, to illustrate the paths of learning during the school year. Lastly, a reflection is presented regarding the period of internship, describing specific learning points to the intern. The second part of the dissertation is a research containing a survey conducted with former students from the project Orquestra Geração, with the objective of learning the musical paths taken by them, which of them proceeded in the studies to the professionalization in the instrument, and how was this path inside the Project. To do so, this essay was divided in the following way: first, a theoretical survey where it is seen the history of the project OG in Portugal, its pedagogical guidelines and the functioning of the project in the school groups where it is inserted. Also in the survey, there are the history, objectives and general running about El Sistema, the project which inspired and formed the first teachers of the OG in Portugal, bringing the functioning model and the directives to the expansion of the project, since in Venezuela, El Sistema is a consolidated project functioning since the 70’s. There is a literature review from two different pedagogies that gives fundament to the intense ensemble practice as a way of incentive and formation of the students: Shinichi Suzuki and Sheila Nelson. So there can be an assessment standard for the former OG students level, it is described the repertoire for admission in Music University Education (violin), in several institutions in Portugal. The second part brings the description and analysis of the interviews made with former students from the Orquestra Geração project, seeking to perceive the positive points and the point to be improved regarding the professionalization of the students (specifically the violinists), the preparation for the labor market and the admission tests to university music courses. Ultimately, there is a survey with professional violinists residing in Portugal that were formed in El Sistema in Venezuela, aiming to perceive which are the incentives inside the project to the professionalization, which are the similarities with Orquestra Geração and from the different characteristics, which ones could be applied in national territory. Lastly, the conclusions are presented, reflecting upon the strong points to the students from Orquestra Geração and the proposal of any improvements that could be applied in the pedagogical plan of the individual instrumental classes.
