Description
Abstract : This thesis is the result of the ongoing work obtained through the Master’s degree in Music Education: Trombone and Chamber Music at the College of Applied Arts of the Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute, in the curricular units of Supervised Teaching Practice and Project of Artistic Teaching. The first part includes the Supervised Teaching Practice, carried out at the School of Arts of Northern Alentejo - Music Conservatory of Portalegre, during the school year of 2019/20, where a characterization of the school, its environment and the Trombone and Chamber Music students was made; the planning of classes and its reports, and a critical observation of the assignments worked on throughout the internship. The second part, concerning the Project of Artistic Teaching, discloses the investigational activity made, “Co-operative Learning Strategies of the Trombone”, in which its purpose consists in studying the implementation of co-operative strategies regarding the study of the Trombone. The investigation is based on a investigation-action relationship, where these strategies were applied to a trombone quartet of a 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade level. Surveys in the form of questionnaires, observation grids and selfassessment grids were used as a means of gathering data and were answered by the student participants in this study. The results show that the strategies chosen enhanced the development of their social skills, theory-based music skills and technique-based music skills.
