Description
Local de Saúde do Norte Alentejano.
Resultados Principais
Em 2020, verificaram-se 5363 episódios de urgência,
enquanto em 2019 tinham ocorrido 11302, ou seja,
houve um decréscimo de 52,5 %. Os utilizadores do
serviço de urgência (SU) são, maioritariamente, do
género feminino, pertencentes ao grupo etário > 65
anos, isentos do pagamento de taxa moderadora,
residentes no concelho de Ponte de Sor e de
nacionalidade portuguesa.
Abstract Objetive Demographic and clinical users of the Emergency Services of the Northern Alentejo Local Health Unit during the State of Emergency due to Covid-19 (March 18 to May 2, 2020), compared to the same period in 2019. Materials and Methods Descriptive-comparative study, with retrospective analysis of data on the characteristics of users of the Emergency Services of the Local Health Unit of Northern Alentejo. Main Results In 2020, there were 5363 episodes of urgency, while in 2019 there had been 11302, i.e., there was a decrease of 52.5 %. Users of the SU are mostly female, belonging to the age group > 65 years, exempt from the payment of moderator fee, residents in the municipality of Ponte de Sor and Portuguese nationality. Mostly, they have a family doctor, do not have previous hospitalizations, resort ed to the SU on their own initiative and by their own means, and the diagnosis of “disease” is the main cause of admission, a situation considered not urgent (attributed green color in the screening), with the main destination after the care to be the home. Conclusion There was a significant reduction in affluence in 2020 compared to 2019. There is evidence that there is a need to continue to promote increased levels of health literacy, as well as increased awareness and accountability of citizens through health education sessions.
