Trabalho de Projeto apresentado à Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Gerontologia Social.
O crescente envelhecimento populacional mostra que é fundamental criarem-se medidas, políticas e estratégias que vão ao encontro das necessidades reais dos idosos de hoje e do futuro. Com este trabalho projeto pretende-se conhecer, analisar e discutir a perceção das necessidades e expetativas dos idosos e dos futuros idosos da Freguesia de São Pedro de Terena, Concelho de Alandroal, para posteriormente serem delineados os eixos de intervenção que respondam ao diagnóstico realizado. Foram questionadas 59 pessoas, divididas em dois grupos, um com idades compreendidas entre os 50-64 anos (31 inquiridos), e o outro com idade superior a 65 anos (28 inquiridos), tendo-se utilizado dois instrumentos de recolha de dados validados através do projeto PerSoParAge (POCI-010145-FEDER-023678). Após a análise e discussão dos resultados, foi possível chegar a algumas conclusões destacando-se que os inquiridos mais velhos, com idade superior a 65 anos mostraram que têm rendimentos mensais bastante baixos, níveis de escolaridade baixos comparativamente ao grupo dos 50-64 anos. Registou-se ainda que o grupo dos inquiridos com mais idade referiram que não vêm os seus familiares tantas vezes como gostariam e sentem-se muitas vezes sozinhos. Evidenciou-se também que os indivíduos mais novos não pensam muito no futuro, mostrando alguma dificuldade na abordagem deste aspeto. Tanto os indivíduos mais velhos como os mais novos pretendem continuar nas suas casas na sua velhice com as condições atuais ou com algumas alterações. Também referiram a necessidade de existência de instituições na freguesia que lhe permitam continuar nas suas habitações com qualidade de vida.
The growing aging population shows that it is essential to create measures, policies and strategies that meet the real needs of today's and tomorrow's elderly. With this work project aims to know, analyse and discuss the perception of the needs and expectations of the elderly and future elderly of the parish of São Pedro de Terena, Alandroal Municipality, to further delineate the intervention axes that respond to the diagnosis made. 59 people were divided into two groups, one aged 50-64 years old (31 respondents) and the other over 65 years old (28 respondents). Two validated data collection instruments were used. through the PerSoParAge project (POCI-010145-FEDER-023678). After the analysis and discussion of the results, it was possible to reach some conclusions highlighting that the older respondents, over 65 years old showed that they have very low monthly income, low levels of education compared to the 50-64 age group. It was also noted that the group of older respondents reported that they do not come to their families as often as they would like and often feel alone. It was also evident that younger individuals do not think much about the future, showing some difficulty in addressing this aspect. Both older and younger individuals want to stay in their homes in their old age under current conditions or with some changes. They also mentioned the need for institutions in the parish to allow them to continue in their homes with quality of life.
