Description
Abstract : This document is presented as a curricular internship report, held at Amigo Comics, Malaga, Spain, and as a dissertation on the topic "Sequential Art". It is presented as a means of completion of the master’s degree in Graphic Design, School of Applied Arts, Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco in association with the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon. The various projects in which the author participated, as well as the tasks performed, and the knowledge acquired during the internship and research period are discussed. Likewise, it addresses the learning of different working methodologies and ways of living, directly related to the work developed, the information and concepts to which it was exposed. Throughout it, the study of one of the areas of visual communication is also investigated and developed: Sequential Art. Therefore, we briefly report and study some historical antecedents and, in parallel, their study, focusing on the Comics. It is also intended to understand how it works and how its visual elements operate when one of them is "neglected". Thus, emerges the investigative topic of the document: “Is it possible to do without the explanatory text in the context of Sequential / Comic Art, keeping its reading intact, using only graphics, as is the case with Illustration?”
