Description
Some technologies such as video games, catch children’s attention, who spend some time playing them, without their parents sometimes realizing that this happens. This study aims at analyzing and interpreting the representation that primary school children’s parents have about their playing time in video games. In order to know about the representation parents have of the time their children spend playing video games during the week and on weekends, the importance they attach to video games on children’s development, and the children’s option between playing video games and doing physical activities, we used a questionnaire. This was given to 163 parents from three schools, aged between 6 and 10 years. After analysis it was found that only two of several hypotheses are confirmed statistically significant differences.
