Description
Abstract : The present work aims to construct a catalogue applicable to the repertoire in Portugal for classical guitar. The designation, Repertoire for Classical Guitar in Portugal 1900 to 2017, derives from a research, cataloguing and attempt to disseminate works composed for classical guitar, in the period between 1900 and 2017, by composers of Portuguese nationality, including also other nationalities individuals who have resided in Portugal during significant periods and, due to their multiple activities and contributions, it would be unfair to omit their work only because they were not born in Portugal. This research work is divided into two parts. The first is the practice of supervised teaching and the second the construction of the aforementioned catalogue. In the first part, the city where the supervised practice took place, the institution involved and the classes with which the master was inserted are described. Some lesson plans, reports and extra-curricular activities will be presented in this work. In the second part, there is an exhibition on the research methods, the state of art, the problematic and, of course, all the intrinsic work for the creation of the catalogue called Repertoire for Classical Guitar in Portugal 1900 to 2017. As for the construction of the catalogue, this makes use of the analysis of work already done in this context and thorough research taken care in musicological research centers, publishers, libraries and others. After the construction of the catalogue, it will be sent to professionals and specialists of the area in order to be validated. Besides the realization of the catalogue in question, this work is intended to contribute directly to a diverse set of readers, despite its academic framework, covering the general public but, of course, especially the one connected to music: guitarists, musicians, critics, students, teachers, music and other artistic matters researchers and, last but not least, for the social and human sciences. It also wants to help other researchers/guitarists risk investigating these issues. It is my intention, with this work, to be able to make known the composers and the repertoire that may not be registered, published or be found in a systematic or easily accessible way.
