Description
a autoeficácia, a autoconfiança e a motivação.
Abstract : This Report is divided in two parts, reflecting the work developed in the ambit of the Master’s Degree in Music Teaching taught in the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas of the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco. The purpose of the first section is to describe a pedagogical practice, completed in the context of the Supervised Teaching Practice curricular unit. It took place during the academic year 2016/2017, at the Conservatório Regional de Castelo Branco. The second part of the Report focuses on a research study of experimental nature, undertaken in the scope of the Artistic Education Project curricular unit. It intended to examine and understand the connection between jazz improvisation, self-efficacy, selfconfidence and motivation. Due to, in the sphere of jazz, it being expectable that musicians improvise, it seemed that it would be an added value to approach this matter through an attempt to optimize the sample subjects’ performance within this domain of music. A model of collective practice of improvisation was thus applied, which aimed to lead the individuals to experience an higher level of confidence in their musical skills, consequently rendering them more motivated to improvise. In the end, it was indeed possible to confirm the existence of a cause-effect relationship between the aforementioned constructs.
