Description
claridade as grandes dificuldades.
esconder do mundo.
Abstract The absence or lack of vision increasingly affects people throughout the world. In Portugal, according to the Censos 2011, there are more than 900 thousand citizens who have difficulties in doing the daily life tasks. Within this number, approximately 28 thousand can’t see without glasses or contact lenses. There are still within the 28 thousand, people with reduced visual acuity. This project developed as a completion of the master’s degree in interior and Furniture Design will be realized by reflecting a home for visual impaired people. Using a mixed methodology, together with studies of real cases, research by bibliographic analyzes, and finally with an interview with a specialist doctor, with the intention of better understanding the biggest difficulties. As a purpose, it is intended to develop a family home, located in the municipality of Fundão, typology T3, belonging to a family of three people, in which one of the elements is visually impaired. Better conditions will be made in his home, the place where he and the majority of it ends up escaping, hiding from the world. Will be elaborated spaces with materials, equipment and illumination placed in a more appropriate way, creating a greater fluidity for the circulation inside, reducing or even eliminating the various barriers of the everyday life of these group of people, more specifically those who have visual impairments. It is intended, therefore, to contribute to the inclusivity of these individuals with the rest of the population, by attributing the right of having an accessible home with the adequate dimensions to the real needs of the users.
