Description
Trabalho de Projeto, apresentado, à Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Gerontologia Social.
O envelhecimento da população representa um dos principais, fenómenos demográficos e sociais da sociedade portuguesa. De acordo com esta situação, surge a necessidade de responder aos múltiplos desafios individuais e coletivos, que advém deste fenómeno populacional, remetendo para uma visão multidimensional que integra os vários domínios da vida pessoal e social dos indivíduos. O grande desafio das sociedades atuais consiste em encontrar formas que possibilitem o aproveitamento do potencial desta faixa etária, em áreas que correspondam às suas expectativas e interesses, devendo, para tal, o contexto social oferecer oportunidades significativas. Sendo assim, este Trabalho de Projeto pretendeu aferir quais as necessidades e expetativas sentidas pelos residentes da freguesia do Ladoeiro, concelho de Idanha-a-Nova, no sentido de criar uma proposta de intervenção que vise colmatar possíveis fragilidades. As informações recolhidas provêm de dois questionários distintos, que nos permitiram avaliar e perceber quais as necessidades e expectativas sentidas por dois grupos específicos, o grupo dos 50 e mais anos e dos 65 e mais. Os instrumentos utilizados para a recolha de dados, integram o Plano Gerontológico de Idanha-a-Nova e a amostra do estudo (55 sujeitos) foi selecionada em função do mesmo. A partir da informação recolhida, chegou-se à conclusão, que os futuros idosos apresentarão caraterísticas distintas dos atuais, e que as necessidades e expetativas serão mais exigentes, em relação ao futuro. Foi também possível detetar algumas fragilidades ao nível do Rendimento, Rede de Transportes, Atividades Socio-Recreativas e no Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário (resposta social valorizada pelos inquirimos deste estudo). Com base nos resultados alcançados, criou-se uma proposta de intervenção que se adeque às necessidades e expetativas da população residente na freguesia, no sentido de contribuir positivamente na área do envelhecimento. Sendo assim, a proposta de intervenção delineada para os residentes da freguesia do Ladoeiro passa por, reajustar a resposta social direcionada à população idosa, no que se refere ao Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário, como também, passa por apelar à promoção do envelhecimento ativo, através de medidas de promoção.
The aging of the population represents one of the main demographic and social phenomena of Portuguese society. According to this situation, the need arises to respond to the multiple individual and collective challenges that arise from this population phenomenon, referring to a multidimensional vision that integrates the various domains of individuals personal and social life. The great challenge facing today's societies is to find ways that make it possible to take advantage of the potential of this age group, in areas that correspond to their expectations and interests, and for that, the social context offers significant opportunities. Thus, this Project Work sought to assess the needs and expectations felt by the residents of Ladoeiro, Idanha-a-Nova county, in order to create a proposal for intervention that aims to overcome possible fragilities. The information gathered comes from two separate questionnaires, which allowed us to evaluate and perceive the needs and expectations felt by two specific groups, the group of 50 and over and 65 and over. The instruments used for the data collection are part of the Idanha-a-Nova Gerontological Plan and the study sample (55 subjects) was selected as a function of the same. Based on the information gathered, it was concluded that future seniors will present characteristics different from the current ones, and that the needs and expectations will be more demanding, in relation to the future. It was also possible to detect some weaknesses in the Income, Transport Network, Socio-Recreation Activities and in the Domiciliary Support Service (social response valued by the inquirimos of this study). Based on the results achieved, a proposal of intervention was created that fits the needs and expectations of the resident population in the parish, in the sense of contributing positively in the area of aging. Thus, the intervention proposal outlined for the residents of the parish of Ladoeiro is to readjust the social response directed to the elderly population, as regards the Home Support Service, as well as to appeal to the promotion of active aging, through promotion measures.
