Relatório de Estágio apresentado à Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Intervenção Social Escolar – Especialização Crianças e Jovens em Risco.
O presente trabalho consiste no relatório de estágio curricular, realizado numa instituição que acolhe crianças e jovens, do sexo feminino, que são retiradas do seu meio familiar. Este trabalho tem como tema a Inclusão Escolar das Crianças e Jovens Institucionalizadas. Centra-se assim na problemática da exclusão escolar, tema este bastante antigo mas que se continua a verificar na atualidade. Constituem o centro de toda esta investigação o grupo de doze crianças e jovens, do sexo feminino, com idades compreendidas entre os 10 e os 15 anos de idade, da Casa da Sagrada Família da Guarda. A institucionalização de crianças e jovens está, geralmente, associada a conflitos familiares de diversas ordens e acarreta consigo algumas implicações, como por exemplo a frequente troca de escola, que implica sempre uma nova adaptação, o que faz com que seja mais provável que estas apresentem comportamentos indisciplinados, insucesso escolar o que pode ter influência na sua inclusão escolar. É responsabilidade da instituição, a partir do momento de acolhimento destas crianças e jovens, amenizar a rutura familiar e proporcionar um variado leque de novas experiências e aprendizagens. Sendo a Casa da Sagrada Família da Guarda e a Escola os principais agentes de socialização destas crianças e jovens, assim como os principais transmissores de competências, valores e educação, é fundamental que as duas instituições desenvolvam um trabalho em conjunto, de forma a prevenir a exclusão destas crianças em contexto escolar. Embora existam vários estudos sobre a institucionalização de crianças e jovens e qual o impacto que este fenómeno tem nestas, ainda há muito trabalho que se pode desenvolver nesta área. Pretende-se com este estudo perceber se as crianças e jovens desta instituição se sentem incluídas na escola, perceber o que é que tem sido feito para combater este problema, assim como intervir neste âmbito. O estudo foi conduzido através de um inquérito por questionário, aplicado às crianças e jovens, um guião de entrevista, observação direta e notas de campo.
The present work consists of the report of curricular internship, carried out in an institution that welcomes children and young women, who are withdrawn from their family environment. This work has as its theme the School Inclusion of Children and Institutionalized Youth. It focuses thus on the problem of school exclusion, a theme that is quite old but continues to be seen today. The center of all this research is the group of twelve children and young women, aged between 10 and 15 years old, from the Casa da Sagrada Família da Guarda. The institutionalization of children and young people is usually associated with family conflicts of various orders and entails some implications, such as frequent school changes, which always implies a new adaptation, which makes them more likely to present Unruly behaviors, and school failure that may have an influence on their school inclusion. It is the responsibility of the institution, from the moment of reception of these children and young people, to reduce family breakdown and provide a wide range of new experiences and learning. As the Casa da Sagrada Família da Guarda and the School are the main agents of socialization of these children and young people, as well as the main transmitters of skills, values and education, it is fundamental that the two institutions work together to prevent Exclusion of these children in a school context. Although there are several studies on the institutionalization of children and young people and what impact this phenomenon has on them, there is still much work that can be done in this area. This study intends to understand if the children and young people of this institution feel included in the school, to understand what has been done to combat this problem, as well as intervene in this scope. The study was conducted through a questionnaire survey, applied to children and young people, an interview script, direct observation and field notes.
