Description
A figura pedagógica de A. S. Faria de Vasconcelos, tão esquecido, mas tão atual na sua psicopedagogia de atenção diferenciada aos alunos e no contributo à orientação escolar e profissional merece ser analisada. Impregnou-se da ‘paidologia’, pedologia e psicologia para descobrir os interesses e motivações no desenvolvimento e na vida consciente da criança. O autor aborda hermeneuticamente, no âmbito da História da Educação portuguesa, os contributos daquele pedagogo ao sistema educativo republicano: análise à proposta de reorganização, na consolidação do estatuto da educação pública; papel das bibliotecas escolares no processo educativo dos alunos; importância da orientação escolar e profissional (Instituto de Orientação Profissional, em Lisboa) nos menores normais e ‘anormais’, fruto das suas ações e experiências de colaboração com outras instituições. Estes eixos norteiam a argumentação histórico-descritiva ressalvando o valor científico dado aos problemas escolares e educativos dos alunos, cuja solução a psicologia investigava, e ainda os aspetos referentes à preservação do ambiente educativo na estimulação das forças físicas e psíquicas da criança. A prática pedagógica preconizada por Faria de Vasconcelos abre novos horizontes na compreensão dos desafios atuais da educação, presentes no Relatório de J. Delors e Estratégia Europeia até 2020: educação e formação na aprendizagem ao longo da vida.
Abstract: Faria de Vasconcelos ‛pioneer active education’: orientation scholastic and professional... and the Portuguese Education System. The pedagogical figure de A. S. Faria de Vasconcelos, so forgotten, but as present in his pedagogy of differentiated attention to students and to the school and professional orientation contribution deserves to be analyzed. Impregnated of ‘paidology’ and psychology to discover child interests and motivations in his or her development and conscious life. The author hermeneutically discusses, within the framework of the Portuguese Education's history, the contributions that the Republican educational system of this pedagogue: analysis the proposed reorganization, the consolidation of the status of public education; the role of school libraries in the educational process of the students; the importance of school and professional orientation (Institute of vocational guidance, in Lisbon) in normal and abnormal ' minors ' as a result of his actions and experiences of collaboration with other institutions. These axis guiding argumentation descriptive historical subject to the value given to the scientific school and educational problems of students, whose solution the psychology investigated and aspects relating to conservation of the environment educational on stimulation of the child's physical and mental forces. The pedagogical practice advocated by Faria de Vasconcelos opens new horizons in understanding the challenges of education, presents the report of J. Delors and European Strategy until 2020: education and training in lifelong learning.
