Description
Dissertação apresentada a Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Intervenção Social Escolar.
A escolha do tema deve-se, essencialmente, à vontade de desenvolver um trabalho de investigação junto de uma população da comunidade profissional docente e não docente, uma vez que, desde sempre, foi este o público-alvo do meu trabalho. Este é a continuação de um estudo efetuado no âmbito da minha licenciatura, com incidência na problemática do sucesso/insucesso dos jovens adolescentes como aspetos importantes para o desenvolvimento destas populações, até então integradas nos Cursos de Educação e Formação e Cursos Profissionais Técnicos. O presente estudo pretende não apenas observar, in loco, situações hipotéticas que facilitam e inibem o sucesso escolar, como também tentar confrontar e enriquecer as informações recolhidas da comunidade profissional docente e não docente, pela forma como contribuem para o sucesso escolar e social dos alunos inseridos nos cursos profissionais técnicos (CPT). Dar a conhecer a eficácia e uma qualificação escolar e profissional, por via dos cursos de educação e formação (CEF), no seguimento aos CPT, pela conclusão do ensino secundário, no combate ao insucesso e abandono escolares. Pretende, ainda, verificar os motivos da escolha deste tipo de formação (paralela ao ensino regular) e as expetativas, no facto de se assumir ou não como via alternativa ao abandono escolar. Com o intuito de compreender e responder às questões presentes deste estudo, bem como a outras que lhe possam estar correlacionadas, recorrendo: a um estudo, incidindo na comunidade profissional; a docentes que exercem a sua profissão lecionando alunos que seguiram a sua orientação vocacional, via este curso/formação profissional técnico e aos não docentes que no seu exercício, ao lidarem com estes mesmos alunos, inseridos neste tipo de curso/formação, no entanto, fora da sala de aula mas inseridos no seio da comunidade escolar, possam em conjunto, contribuir numa prática para a melhoria contínua da comunidade educativa, de uma escola secundária pública do ensino regular, da cidade de Castelo Branco.
The choice of the subject is mainly due to my will of developing an investigation work, together with the teaching and non-teaching community staff, once that this has always been the target market of my essay. This is the follow up of my consideration, as far as my degree is concerned, with impact in the problematic of success and academic unsuccess of teenagers, with important points to the development of these communities that were, till now, part of the education, formation technical and professional courses. The main aim of the current study is not only to observe “in loco” hypothetical situations that make easy and inhibit the school success, but also try to confront and improve the gathered information from a teaching and non-teaching school community; the way how it contributes to the social and school success of the students integrated in the professional/technical courses, show the efficiency and the professional school qualification through the Courses of Education and Formation (CEF) continuing the Professional and Technical Courses (CPT) by the conclusion of high school, acting against the unsuccess and the school renunciation. This essay also tries to check and examine the reasons of choosing this kind of school formation (similar to the regular schooling), and the expectations in the fact of undertaking it or not as an alternative way to the school dropout. It will understand and answer to the general questions and others that could be linked to them, recurring to hard a study focused in the professional community: on one hand the teachers who teach students that followed their vocational sense; on the other hand the non-teaching community that work with the same students in this Kind of school formation/course, (out of the classroom but integrated into the school community), that could together, contribute in a practical way, to a continuous improvement of the school community in a public high school in the town of Castelo Branco.
