Description
Abstract: In the context of 19th and early 20th century, marked by essentially eclectic projects, domestic interiors and their furniture resulted from the work of of architects, decorators, painters and carvers. We demonstrate the role of Ernesto Korrodi (1870-1944), professor hired by the Portuguese government to teach in industrial schools. He would distinguished himself by design methodology particularly focused on drawing process. His projects revealed a heightened sense of unity and synthesis, proceeding from the understanding of interior space as a coherent whole which results from the relationships established between plans, ornaments, lighting and furniture solutions. We intend with this article to look at graphic records produced by the author in question, and understand their vocation as a way of perception of reality around him, projectual exploitation or final presentation.
