Dissertação apresentada à Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Atividade Física na especialidade de Motricidade Infantil.
Nos últimos 20 anos a investigação tem dado mostras da relevância do suporte parental durante o desenrolar desportivo da criança. Neste sentido, o presente estudo tem como principal objetivo avaliar o envolvimento parental na prática desportiva das crianças, mais especificamente no futebol. A amostra foi selecionada em três clubes da cidade de Castelo Branco, sendo constituída por 110 indivíduos de ambos os géneros, com idades compreendidas entre os 31 e 52 anos. Nesta investigação foi utilizado como instrumento de recolha de dados, um questionário adaptado ao contexto desportivo e traduzido para a realidade portuguesa por Teques (2009). Os resultados indicam que os pais apresentam elevados índices de envolvimento parental na prática desportiva dos seus filhos. Relativamente à variável género os resultados demostraram existir diferenças estatisticamente significativas na dimensão Atividades parentais (DIM_10). Quanto ao escalão de formação das crianças, os pais dos traquinas manifestam diferenças estatisticamente significativas na dimensão Perceção parental das invocações oriundas do treinador (DIM_2). Por último a variável habilitações literárias apresenta resultados estatisticamente significativos na dimensão Perceção parental do tempo e energia (DIM_7), onde os pais com habilitações superiores têm um maior envolvimento comparativamente aos pais com habilitações não superiores.
In the last 20 years the research has been proving the relevance of the parental support during the development of the child sport performance. In this sense, the present study has the main goal of knowing the parental involvement in the child sport practice and, more specifically in football. The sample was selected in three clubs of Castelo Branco and it is constituted by both genders in 110 countries, with ages ranged between 31 and 52 years old. In this research it was used a survey adapted to the sport context and it was translated to the Portuguese reality of Teques (2009). The results show that the parents present high levels of parental involvement in their child sport practice. Regarding to the 12 dimensions of the study, it was only found significant differences in the DIM_10 – Parental Activities, according with the gender variable, with the fathers presenting a higher perception when compared with the mothers, in the DIM_2 – Parental perception of the invocations from the coach according with the children training level variable, with the parents of the elfish children level a higher parental involvement when compared with the parents of the infant children level and, in DIM_7 – Parental perception of the time and energy according with the educational qualifications variable, where the higher qualifications´ parents have a higher involvement when compared with the basic qualifications‘ parents.
