Description
ABSTRACT: In the problematic of forest fires, we have never heard about the role of communication in prevention and intervention, except to account the failures of the mobile communication system. But the communication doesn't end in the mobile phone network: it has a fundamental role in planning and action. We believe that after the tragedies of this summer, there is a possibility of widen our eyes on this problem and introducing elements so far forgotien. We studied this question, talked to different agents in order to have various perspectives about the subject and we elaborated a plan that pretends to provide knowledge and tools to the most exposed communities to forest disasters, such as wildfires, to become more resilient. The first adopted methodologies were interviews, to deepen the knowledge about the subject and to collect different points of view. There are so many solutions to minimize the damage caused by this catastrophe, the solution that we have search has gone far beyond design, but it is, undoubtedly one of the means to catch the intended purpose. This texts talks about the work developed by a group of three designers to build a more effective plan, puting communication design on a lead part of the intervention process.
