Description
O último censo demográfico realizado no Brasil informa que
aproximadamente 24% da população possui algumtipo de deficiência - a
maioria, deficiência visual. Considerando que 60% desse quantitativo
sequer completou o ensino fundamental embora existam políticas que
garantam o acesso à Educação, este artigo investiga como o Design pode
contribuir para melhorar as imagens nos materiais didáticos
disponibilizados, de modo a ampliar o acesso à informação. De cunho
qualitativo e por meio de roteiro semiestruturado, foram entrevistados
designers do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do
Espírito Santo. Em primeira análise, concluiu-se que há uma lacuna entre
a formação e a prática profissional, o que interfere na produção de
imagens acessíveis.

Considering that 60% of this amount did not even complete elementary educa_on, although there are policies that guarantee access to Education, this ar_cle investigates how Design can contribute to improve the images in the teaching materials made available, in order to increase access to information. In the first analysis, it was concluded that there is a gap between training and professional practice, which interferes with the production of accessible images.
