Description
Objetivo
Esta revisão de literatura tem como objetivo
identificar e descrever as alterações cutâneas
doentes oncológicos submetidos a RT; (2) estudos
ABSTRACT Objective This literature review aims to identify and describe the skin changes caused by RT, as well as evidence the intervention of dermato-functional physiotherapy in the context of its treatment in cancer patients. Materials and Methods The research was conducted between October and December 2018, using PubMed and ScienceDirect as databases and the period of publications corresponding to the last 20 years being defined. In this study the following articles were included: (1) including as a sample of the study cancer patients submitted to RT; (2) studies whose variables are related to the methods of intervention in dermatofunctional physiotherapy; (3) articles available in full in English or Portuguese. Main results We analyzed 8 articles in which different approaches of physical therapy intervention were studied in the described skin lesions, namely in the scope of Radiodermatitis, Radiotherapy Induced Fibrosis (RIF) and Telangiectasias. Conclusion The high prevalence of dermatological complaints in oncological patients submitted to RT reveals the importance of the early elaboration of intervention strategies; however, further studies are required to specify the assessment and treatment approach in this group of patients.
